Intro to Latin Dance - Fall 09

Intro to Latin Dance, a great learning tool for our popular Zumba Fitness Class, gives participants an opportunity to learn several new dance styles that are sweeping dance floors across the world. It doesn't matter if you've never danced before or if you think you have 2 left feet, Deana will teach you the fascinating footwork of Salsa, Merengue, mambo, and more. This dance class is a great introduction or refresher for those who just can't help themselves when they hear Latin music. During each session we will break down dance moves and you'll learn the difference, musically, between a salsa and merengue. The more familiar you are with the styles of music and dance the better you can 'work it' during a regular Zumba class.

2007 Latino Festival July 31-August 4
This is an awesome event that spans from movie screenings, dance lessons, live music, and Zumba!  We had a tremendous turnout at the Burlington Boathouse on Lake Champlain and the weather was beautiful!

Vermont National Guard 2007 Latino Weekend October 13, 2007
Each year the Vermont National Guard celebrates the Latino culture by having a Latin dance party and other events to introduce diversity to the Guard members.  This year, Alina Wright contacted us to do a class featuring salsa, merengue, pachata, and cumbia.  It was an honor to participate in this annual event and to have all the 'dancers'  show up in their military apparel and Zumba with us!

All Sports Health & Fitness Expo-October 20 & 21, 2007
A fun-filled two day event!  So much to offer the entire family.  You must come to this next year.  Zumba had two 45-minute classes where you could join in or watch.  We also got the guys from the Vermont Frost Heaves basketball team to join in on the dancing.  The guys from the UVM Ultimate Frisbee Club were a blast to be next to!  Daren & Wilson were such nice guys.  We felt lucky to meet you both.

SCW Fitness Mania-Boston November 2 & 3, 2007
This event is for exercise professionals to gather and learn more about what's going on in the fitness industry.  There is an educational lecture series and classes in which you can participate.  Beto Perez, founder of Zumba Fitness, and Koh Herlong, Director of Education and Trainer for Zumba, were there to showcase Zumba.

Koh & Beto are very professional, dynamic, and experienced on-stage personalities.  Koh has more than 20 years of group exercise experience and Beto is clearly a dancer.  Their teaching styles are very different but they have an energy that is similarly performance-based.
